My Special Memories

A special memory that I have is when I was a child and would play in leaves and snow with my family. I remember these memories so easily because it happened when I was little and was when I didn't have a care in the world, just pure happiness. I remember after we were done playing outside, we would go inside and make hot chocolate and eat food. These memories are my special memories. Another special memory that I have is the memory of me going to states in 8th grade and coming in 2nd place. This was a special memory for me because I was there with my friends and family and I had them there cheering me on. Another special memory that I have is graduating high school. At my graduation ceremony I sat next to one of my best friends and as soon as they said congratulations to my class we all threw our caps in the air and hugged each other. I was glad I was able to graduate with my friends because I almost missed graduation since I made it to regionals for throwing my senior year. Region...

My Happy Places

       One of my favorite places to go to make me happy is the movie theater. I like the movie theater because you have nothing else to do besides watch the movie in pitch black. It is very peaceful watching a movie here, and you just get to relax and enjoy it. You do not have to worry about anything outside the movie, just have to sit there, eat popcorn, drink something, and just watch the movie. Nobody talks to you and you are able to sit there quietly for a couple hours.       Another place that makes me happy is when on vacation. Vacation makes me happy because you don't have to worry about anything going on back home and you can just focus on happy emotions. Being on vacation also makes me happy because I am able to get tan, and I think that I am way happier when I am tanner than when I am pale. On vacation my family and I laugh and do fun activities. Day off

  Emily Semick Day Off     If I could have one day off to do whatever I wanted, then I would make that the best day. The first thing that I would do is go to breakfast early in the morning so then I can watch the sun rise. After watching the sunrise then I would go home and change and get ready for the day. In the beginning of the day I would take my dog for a walk so he gets his energy out and I just enjoy the weather and sun. After the walk I would get ready to go swimming at either my friends house or the beach since that is what we love to do the most. During swimming, it will be lunch time and we would have packed a lunch and ate it while me and my friends were tanning outside the pool. We would have packed sandwiches and cookies and lots of drinks to stay hydrated. After we ate, we would swim for a little more and then change so I could go to my other friend's house and just hang out and play games. Made up Holidays

  Emily Semick  2/11/2022  Fake Holiday  If I were to make up a holiday for the college, then it would be a birthday holiday. This means that on your birthday, you are allowed to skip class, and practice the whole day. This holiday will be made so that it allows students and professors to celebrate their birthday with themselves, their families, or their friends. I think that birthdays are under-appreciated but the truth is that we only have so many so why not celebrate all of them. You are lucky if you get 100 of them but in your 20s and late teen years, you want to go out and celebrate them while you are young. By having a holiday on the campus then it will allow you to not go to class without feeling guilty or anxious. There are other holidays that I would create at this campus, and one of them would be Activity day. My Opinion on Ghosts

 Emily Semick GHOSTS       When I think of ghosts, I think of haunting and horror movies. There are so many movies with ghosts and the most popular one is titled “Ghostbusters”. I think that this movie isn’t how real ghosts are. They aren’t white blobs that destroy things and terrorize peoples lives. There are so many shows nowadays that look so fake about ghosts and how people are trying to track them down and take a picture of them. The way they take pictures of a ghost is if a white pixel or blob appears in the picture.  I don’t think that people are able to get pictures of ghosts or track them down, because I think they come up when they are needed. I think ghosts are real, and they are able to haunt people, but also be good. All over TikTok there are videos of ghost sightings, and the video that stuck with me was a video of a dog sitting in his crate and his collar just starts coming off and nobody is touching him or even around him. Power of Language

Emily Semick 1/12/2022      The time/event that I knew the “power of language” was when Martin Luther King Jr gave his “I Have a Dream”. I wasn’t alive when he publicly spoke it, but it has had an affect on the world ever since. He said in his speech, “   I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed — we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.” He was a brave African American man who spoke up against racial inequality when everyone else was scared to. The reason why this event was when I knew the power of language is because even though it was 60 years ago it still has affects and is brought up. This event also holds so much power because at his speech, he made people change and treat everyone more equally than what they were before his speech. It didn’t matter as much what the color of your skin was after he publicly said his speech.
